Her days at the Hilton Hurghada Plaza were filled with lazy mornings on sandy beaches collecting sand dollars and indulging in luxurious massages with fresh coconut and honey—a treat for all senses! Not to mention, Allison had her first encounter with smoking shisha, adding an authentic local flavor to her seaside retreat.

In her own words, “Hurghada is awesome. Go to Egypt,” she insisted. And who are we to argue? And naturally, who could resist a fresh fish market or the surprising sight of a camel casually strolling by the marina? Every moment there spells relaxation and discovery. A Voyage through History in Luxor

From the beachside bliss of Hurghada, Allison traveled back in time to the Temple of Luxor, a monumental testament to Egypt’s glorious past. Dating back to around 3000 BC, her visit to these ancient ruins was enhanced by a knowledgeable local guide who brought the stories of Egyptian gods and pharaohs to life. Through the eyes of her amazing guide, she relived the stories that shaped our civilization.

The Wonders of Giza

Next on her list was the iconic Great Pyramid of Giza.  Allison didn’t just feast her eyes on this wonder of the ancient world; she climbed inside, experiencing the historical marvel from within. She felt as though she were stepping inside the pages of a history book as she rode a camel through the desert winds and stood under the watchful eyes of the Sphinx, both offering stunning views and a touch of Bedouin life. These are things you see on tv or travel magazines.. but there she was, gazing upon the majestic Sphinx! She couldn’t help but shed tears of joy—twice!

 

Marine Majesty at Small Giftun Island

Switching back to the allure of the Red Sea, Allison explored the underwater paradises surrounding Small Giftun Island. Even without a GoPro, her grainy underwater photography couldn’t hide the splendor of vibrant coral reefs and the bustling life among them. It was another perfect, cloudless day on the sea, a stark contrast to the desert yet equally magnificent. In a reflection on her travels, Allison noted a remarkable personal achievement. This line alone encapsulates the spirit of a true globetrotter—ever curious, ever adventurous.
